- STEVE VEAR (Head Coach) -
Steve is a well organised, reliable and experienced coach who has been fortunate enough to coach in the United States and in various camps all over the UK. Steve plays a pivotal role every summer in NBA superstar, Luol Deng's Basketball Camp.
Steve is an England Basketball Accredited Level 2 Coach who obtains his own private insurance and regular CRB checks through the National Governing Body. Steve is also a qualified first aider and has obtained a BSc Hons Degree in Sport Sciences.
- COACHING HISTORY -
Sept 2008-Present: Appointed as Head Coach of Kingston University Ladies Team competing in BUCS 2A.
May 2008-09: Appointed on a 2 year post as Assistant Coach for the English Universities Team competing in the Home Nations tournament.
October 2007-May 2008: Employed by Leicester Basketball Development as a part time Community Basketball Coach and "Hoops 4 Health" coordinator. The Hoops 4 Health programmes main objective was to promote basketball within Leicestershire primary schools whilst educating young children on Healthy Eating, Fitness & Well-Being, Non Smoking, and Basketball Skills. Steve was in charge of the Healthy Eating Workshops which managed to take place in 64 primary schools all over Leicestershire. Steve was also appointed Camp Coordinator for the Leicester Riders Easter and Summer Camps.
Sept 2006-July 2007: Employed by Thames Valley University, Reading, as a Sports Coaching Lecturer in BTEC National Diploma Sports Sciences. Steve was also appointed by TVU to tutor Basketball CSLA Award courses, and assisted on England Basketball Level 1 coaching courses within the Berkshire area.
Sept 2005-May 2006: Employed by Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead (RBWM) as a part time Community Basketball Sports Coach and also by Reading Rockets Basketball Club as the Head Coach of the Under 12 National League team. The RBWM post included working within various primary and secondary schools and also helping with programmes such as "13-19" and "Sports Bug" within the local communities to promote sport in underprivileged areas. Steve was also appointed as Camp Director for the Reading Rockets and RBWM Basketball Camps.
October 2003-May 2005: Employed on a part time basis by JK Coaching Services as a Community Basketball Coach. The job entailed coaching after school clubs within primary schools in the West Sussex area.
Sept 2001-May 2003: Employed by London United Basketball Club as a full time Community Basketball Coach. Steve worked in primary and secondary schools in the West London area and also managed the basketball side of many multi-skill camps ran by the local borough and authorities.

Steve has played in the USA and France, and has also represented England at junior, senior and university level. He was also a part of the Great Britain Commonwealth Games Squad in 2006.
